The Bridge Builders: Aaron Wolf
(Information was extracted from George Gould's Indiana Covered Bridges Thru the Years for the following)

Though the years there as been confusion regarding Aaron Wolf and son Henry whereby both have been credited with having built covered bridges. According to John Secrist, Secretary of the Indiana Covered Bridge Association, there is no confusion; Arron was the bridge builder and Henry operated a sawmill.

Together Aaron and Henry may have collaborated on six bridges in Indiana. One of these, the Ramp Creek bridge, was moved from Putnam County in the 1930s and now graces the entrance to Brown County State Park; it is the only double-lane (or double-barrelled) and oldest covered bridge in Indiana. Other bridges still standing built by Aaron Wolf are Portland Mills and Crooks, both in Parke County.
