Newport Bridge

Crossing the Little Vermillion River and constructed with a Burr Arch truss, this 180 foot long structure was built by J.J. Daniels in 1885 and is open to traffic.

Established in 1824 and named for the Vermillion River, this county is located in West Central Indiana where Newport is the County Seat.

Vermillion County originally had twelve (12) covered bridges. Today it has three (3) remaining.

Points of interest in the County include: the Wabash River, Ernie Pyle Birthplace, Whitewater Memorial State Park and Bass Lake State Beach.
