Hillsdale Covered Bridge

Originally crossing Little Vermillion Creek, this 104 foot long Burr Arch truss structure was moved to the Ernie Pyle Rest Park in 1973 where it now crosses a ravine. Also known as the Possum Bottom bridge, it was built in 1876 by J.J. Daniels.

Established in 1824 and named for the Vermillion River, this county is located in West Central Indiana where Newport is the County Seat.

Vermillion County originally had twelve (12) covered bridges. Today it has three (3) remaining.

Points of interest in the County include: the Wabash River, Ernie Pyle Birthplace, Whitewater Memorial State Park and Bass Lake State Beach.
