Dunbar Bridge

Crossing Big Walnut Creek and constructed with a Burr Arch truss, this 174 foot long structure was built in 1880 by parties unknown.

Established in 1821 and named in honor of General Israel Putnam, hero of the French and Indian War, this county is located in Central Indiana where Greencastle is the County Seat.

Putnam County originally had thirty (30) covered bridges plus two (2) that it shared with other counties. Today it has nine (9) remaining.

Points of interest in the County besides its beautiful covered bridges include: DePauw University and Lieber State Park.
